The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.larousse.com\/en\/dictionnaires\/francais\/baragouin\/7901\">Larousse Dictionary<\/a> defines <strong>baragouin<\/strong> as language that is incomprehensible due to poor pronunciation, vocabulary or syntax, or an incomprehensible foreign language; and <strong>baragouiner<\/strong> as to talk a foreign language, incorrect pronounciation, or to express something in an incomprehensible way.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/baragouin\">Wikitionaire<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archive.org\/stream\/dictionnairedty01schegoog#page\/n40\/mode\/2up\"><em>Le Dictionnaire d&#8217;\u00e9tymologie fran\u00e7aise<\/em><\/a>, these words come from two Breton words &#8211; <em>bara<\/em> (bread) and <em>gwin<\/em> (wine) &#8211; things that Breton-speaking travellers often asked for from French-speaking inn keepers during the Middle Ages and which the French speakers particularly noticed.
