You can also talk about going on <em>une promenade en mer \/ en bateau<\/em> (a boat trip), or if you going for <em>une promenade \u00e0 pied<\/em>, you might follow <em>un sentier de promenade<\/em> (a footpath) with <em>un sac \u00e0 dos de promenade<\/em> (daysack) on your back.<\/p>\n<p>The verb that goes with <em>promenade<\/em> is <em>faire<\/em> (to do), so you might say <em>je vais faire une promenade \u00e0 velo<\/em> = I&#8217;m going for a bike ride.
