It combines <em>ordinateur<\/em> (computer) and <em>dinosaur<\/em> and means an out-of-date computer &#8211; the laptop I&#8217;m writing this on is only three years old, but is already a bit of an <em>ordinosore<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The article mentions <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/group.php?gid=73262105313&#038;v=wall\"><em>le Festival XYZ<\/em><\/a>, an annual event started in 2002 by \u00c9ric Donfu to celebrate new words in French and to breath life into the language.<\/p>\n<p>Other words from the festival include:<br \/>\n&#8211; phonard \u2013 someone who is always on their mobile phone (pejorative)<br \/>\n&#8211; bonjoir &#8211; a combination of <em>bonjour<\/em> (good day) and <em>bonsoir<\/em> (good evening) used at around midday<br \/>\n&#8211; attachiant(e) \u2013 a combination of <em>attachant<\/em> (captivating, endearing) and <em>chiant<\/em> (annoying) that means someone you cannot live with but cannot live without<br \/>\n&#8211; b\u00eate seller -a particularly awful literary work that becomes an instant hit (<em>b\u00eate<\/em> = stupid, silly).<\/p>\n<p>Are there similar words or festivals in other languages \/ countries?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ordinosore is an interesting French word I came across today in an article in The Guardian.
