Here’s an Old Irish joke<\/a> I found today that’s been translated into many languages, including Classical Nahuatl<\/a>, Sanskrit<\/a> and Cherokee<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is the Modern Irish version:<\/p>\n

\nT\u00e9ann siad ins an fh\u00e1sach chun aithr\u00ed a dh\u00e9anamh ina gcuid peaca\u00ed roimh Dhia.
\nBh\u00ed siad gan labhairt lena ch\u00e9ile go ceann bliana.
\nAnsin d\u00fairt fear d\u00edobh le fear eile bliain amh\u00e1in ina dhiaidh sin, \u201cT\u00e1imid go maith,\u201d ar seisean.
\nMar sin go ceann bliana.
\n\u201cIs maith go deimhin,\u201d arsa an dara fear.
\nBh\u00ed siad ann ina dhiaidh sin go ceann bliana.
\n\u201cDar m\u2019aib\u00edd,\u201d arsa an treas fear, \u201cmura ligeann sibh ci\u00fanas dom f\u00e1gfaidh m\u00e9 an f\u00e1sach uile daoibh!\u201d<\/p>\n
