{"id":18282,"date":"2019-09-10T21:03:08","date_gmt":"2019-09-10T21:03:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/bloggle\/?p=18282"},"modified":"2019-09-10T21:03:08","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T21:03:08","slug":"do-you-latibulate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/bloggle\/?p=18282","title":{"rendered":"Do you latibulate?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Do you ever feel like <strong>latibulating<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps you might do if you don&#8217;t feel very <strong>osculable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These are words I learnt today from the <a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/gb\/podcast\/testiculate\/id1456772823?i=1000449196166\">Something Rhymes with Purple podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Latibulate<\/strong> means &#8220;to hide oneself in a corner&#8221; and comes from the Latin <em>latibulum<\/em> (hiding place, refuge, den) [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wordsandphrasesfromthepast.com\/bull-blog\/latibulate\">source<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p><strong>Osculable<\/strong> means &#8220;capable of being kissed&#8221; or &#8220;kissable&#8221; and comes from the Latin <em>\u014dscul\u0101re<\/em> (to kiss)  [<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.inkyfool.com\/2011\/03\/osculable.html\">source<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p>Related words include <strong>to osculte<\/strong> (to kiss), <strong>osculation<\/strong> (the act of kissing), <strong>osculatrix<\/strong> (a lady who kisses), <strong>an oscularity<\/strong> (a kiss), and <strong>an osculary<\/strong> (anything that can and should be kissed).<\/p>\n<p>So if you meet an osculary, maybe you could suggest to them that you latibulate in order to engage in some osculation.
