It is a portmanteau of <em>(h)oll<\/em> (all, the whole, everything, everyone) and <em>gallu<\/em> (to be able (to), have power (to), can, be able to accomplish (a thing)), and there are a couple of variant forms: <em>ollallu<\/em> and <em>hollalluogrwydd<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Related words include:<br \/>\n&#8211; hollalluedd \/ ollalluedd = omnipotence<br \/>\n&#8211; hollalluog \/ ollalluog = omnipotent, almighty, all-powerful; the Almighty.\u2002<\/p>\n<p>Source: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/welsh-dictionary.ac.uk\/gpc\/gpc.html\">Geiriadur Prifysgol Cymru \/ A Dictionary of the Welsh Language<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>So I have come up with a Welsh version of Omniglot based on these words &#8211; <strong>(h)olliaithadur<\/strong>, which combines <em>(h)oll<\/em> with <em>iaith<\/em> (language) and the suffix <em>adur<\/em> (denoting a tool or thing) as in <em>geiriadur<\/em> (dictionary or &#8220;words tool\/thing&#8221;).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I came across a wonderful word in Welsh today &#8211; hollallu [h\u0254\u026c\u02c8a\u026c\u0268] &#8211; which means omnipotence or almightiness.
