...I have taught in the United States as well as Athens, Greece and Seoul, South Korea. Most of my students speak Spanish but have taught students who speak many other languages as well. I have two master's degrees.

...My geology students learned the hardness of minerals by meeting Tall George Collins from Altoona. (Talc-gypsum-calcite-apatite). Humor, as it turns out, helps people remember. I promote vocabulary development by teaching prefixes, suffixes, and word roots, incorporating Latin and Greek origins. This helps with reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.

...I currently direct several sessions of the Spanish Conversation Table at Penn State Harrisburg. Spanish is my second language, so I appreciate the difficulties and headaches a second language learner may experience. I currently tutor students in writing and composition at Penn State Harrisburg's Learning Center.

...I substituted for years both day to day and as a permanent substitute in both Maine and Chester County PA. I left the US in 2007 to be the head teacher in a private academy in South Korea, where I taught English and writing and tutored students in Social Students who planed on studying overseas. I also worked in the Korean Public School System teaching middle school students.
