The Urdu Latin alphabet is a method of writing Urdu using the Latin alphabet devised by Adnaan Mahmood, who feels that the current Arabic-based alphabet is not sufficient to represent all the sounds of Urdu, especially the vowels and aspirated consonants. He also wanted to make it easier for foreigners to learn Urdu without having the Arabic alphabet as an obstacle.
