Hi,I am looking to help students learn American Sign Language. American Sign Language is a visual language that is beautiful, but can be tricky to learn due to small nuances. Additionally, students have different learning styles and can greatly benefit from a one on one tutor who can adapt to their needs and maximize their learning.

...I teach reading music in both treble and bass clefs, time and key signatures. I also teach Solfege (Do, Re Mi..) and intervals to help with correct pitch. I use IPA to teach correct pronunciation of foreign language lyrics (particularly Latin). I have a portable keyboard to bring to lessons and music if the student doesn't have their own selections that they wish to learn.

In high school I took numerous Public speaking courses, lead the debate team, and was the president of the Public Speaking committee. In college I was also head of the debate team and took 2 public speaking courses.

...I worked with adults in improving their ASL skills. I feel that when I am working with students or adults who are interested in learning ASL, that it is best for me to be patient and gain a better understanding as to how much ASL they know. I will start by teaching them the alphabet and then work on teaching them the basics of ASL.
