...I received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Baylor University. I worked for the school's newspaper for 2.5 years, spending a year and a half as a staff writer and a year as an editor. During my time as an editor, I was the go-to person for two classes of reporters.

I am an area high school teacher and adjunct professor. For 20+ years now, I have taught and tutored in a variety of subjects, for students with differing ages and needs, and have experienced many different scenarios. In conjunction with the goals of their parents and the standards set for the state/school, we all begin the process of skill attainment, critical thinking, subject mastery, and goal achievement. ...While I was raising my children, I was a certified and accredited child care provider. I provided a learning center for both preschool and school-aged children. Starting in 1990, I began teaching at the public schools with kindergarten children in the deaf and hard-of-hearing program.
