...I thought back on my first teaching experience back when I was in college. I took part in this program where students from my university taught a group of public school children how to make a model rocket and how it worked. I remember I got the chance to instruct a small group of children on the names of all the parts of the rocket and a basic explanation of how they functioned.

After studying Spanish for nearly a decade, I moved to Spain following my graduation from the University of Maryland. There, I completed a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course in Seville in order to become a certified language teacher. In September 2007, I moved to Barcelona and spent three years teaching English and gaining fluency in Spanish.
