I love teaching, and I have experience teaching English and Art. I taught art for a summer session in 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona. These students were 1st through 9th grades.

I have worked with children since I was 13 and in the last 13 years, my husband and I have positively impacted children and teenagers, many of whom lived in our home. I have learned so much from children that many adults tend to forget or neglect in our own lives.

...Prior to working as a teacher, I attended a liberal arts university, the University of Dallas, where I received a BA in English Literature. I love to read and to discuss the various themes and ideas presented by pieces of literature. Though I don't have a degree in history, I took many history classes in college and also studied abroad in Rome.

...That means that a student must be able to sequence five items before he has the capacity to learn phonetically. So, if a person is weak sequentially he can study phonics forever but never catch on to reading. Its like the proverbial “beating your head against the wall.” The typical dyslexic struggles because his left brain, which is the side that sequences things, is weak.
