Tutoring children is a joy in my life. I love to teach them the science behind chemistry and mathematics. Spanish is my first language and it makes me happy when I can teach it.

First, I try to find out what sparks the interest in the student and then try to relate the subject matter that he or she has difficult with to that interesting topic....

...As his/her confidence builds I like to introduce more and more vocabulary as well as the rules of grammar and composition. The bulk of the work is oral with written back-up for initial word recognition and vocabulary development. I love to teach English.

...In fact, I even began teaching Spanish to children and teenagers I cared for in Castro Valley. Due to the fact that the Brazilian economy has recently improved, more and more people have shown interest in learning Portuguese. I'm excited to teach San Francisco my native language!

...I lived in El Salvador, Central America, for 5 months, which helped tremendously with my language learning. I maintain my Spanish by staying in touch with friends from El Salvador and speaking Spanish with friends who live here. How I Learned Portuguese:
I took two semesters of intensive Portuguese in college and then lived in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, for 6 months.
