McNair Scholar, which was undoubtedly the program that changed my academic career path towards the doctorate degree and helped me get where I am today. ...This way the student increases in confidence to engage in everyday dialog. As the student becomes more advanced I slowly develop the lesson content so it is eventually conducted completely in Portuguese. I also enjoy very much teaching English as a second language.

Tutoring children is a joy in my life. I love to teach them the science behind chemistry and mathematics. Spanish is my first language and it makes me happy when I can teach it.

...However, a lot of my language mastery has been acquired outside the classroom. I love speaking with natives and other language students because it's fun, challenging, and always improves my skills. I've found that taking this route led to compliments of my proficiency and clarity in the English and Spanish languages.
