...I would like to think I am an expert of sorts on autism, as my very own son is on the autism spectrum. We have been working with various agencies in-home to help him with his behavior and his academics and I have been able to generalize what I have learned to teach other students. I have received much parent training from these agencies.

...That's what I do in class: make my students think, interpret and explain the meaning of what we are reading in order to be precise towards the context. Loving my mother tongue caused me to love other languages, too. Reading and writing in Portuguese made me seek for other poems and other songs in other languages and idioms.
