...I fell in love with Brazilian music, culture, food, and sports! I bought a Brazilian Portuguese language textbook, various novels in Portuguese, and audio lessons and began my learning journey. My fiance of 3 years is from Brazil, so now I am completely fluent in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

...A graduate degree in Linguistics broadened my knowledge of grammar, and teaching grammar to foreign students made me aware of the cross-linguistic differences and difficulties they face. Only a solid knowledge of grammar makes good verbal communication possible. Building that foundation should be the goal of every student, and it is never too late to start.
