...I have worked with the following reading methods: Orton Gillingham, Wilson, Wilson's FUNdations, Project Read, and many others. Wilson's FUNdations is the most geared to your son's age, and Orton Gillingham is most flexible. In 2003, I took a one year course with Massachusetts General Hospital, Reading Disabilities Unit in Orton Gillingham.

...It is my philosophy that making a practical link to the learning is best when it can be done. My students who had entered the school with low academic self esteem did very well in my classes. Those who tested in at a 4th grade level left the program at a 10th grade level or better and went on to graduate from four year colleges, become CEOs of engineering companies, and nurses at MGH.
