Hi,I would like to introduce myself, my name is Maria, and I am an Early Childhood Education teacher and Art Teacher, I have and Associate degree at La Sabana University in Bogota Colombia where I was born. I worked back home as an art and English teacher for about 5 years, then I moved to the US about 13 years ago. Since then, I have been working with children.

...Because I learned English as a second language, I know very well how to teach it. I know how to teach English grammar (very important when you want to learn a new language), pronunciation (also important, if one wants to be understood by native English speakers) and vocabulary. When I taught ESL to elderly immigrants, they were very happy with me and thought that I was a good teacher.

...Some of my most rewarding teaching experiences have been through tutoring students who were struggling, some of whom were convinced that they just couldn't learn a language. I have been able to convince them otherwise. I believe that a good tutor works very hard to put herself or himself out of a job.
