...While working there I have taught reading/writing/phonics/ESL and helped with students that have learning disabilities. I use the phonics method, putting a heavy emphasis on encouraging students to sound out their words instead of taking guesses, and have had much success. I have a library of books that focus on learning word families that I use with each student that is of appropriate age.
