- Group insurance: Some companies or clubs offers group insurance, which helps in cost cutting and are convenient.
- Duplication of confirmation copy: If the original copy is lost the company mails a new copy without taking any cost.
- Occurrence policy: If the policy is returned or expires it still covers the law suit happens when the policy was in effect.
Cons:
- Individual policy: It does not cover your spouse if she is not in your group. The person has to take another policy for the partner.
- Proprietor policy: If anybody has the company or the therapy center in the form of corporation or partnership firm then the additional charges are levied. The policy is not for this type of firms and the charge has to be given.
- Limited cover: It only covers the method of massage it has been taken for. Any other method is not covered. It also does not cover charges of sexual harassment, ear candling or passing of HIV and STD.
- No refund: This type of policies are generally non refundable. Even if the policy holder cancels his policy the money is not refunded.
Massage liability insurance is as important as any other insurance. It protects the massage therapist against any law suit. The insurance helps in keeping peace of mind, which is very essential in this business. The legal process is very much costly and it could easily shed thousands of dollars even in the false case. The insurance company helps the holder of the policy to deal with it. Some companies in the USA also give the massage liability cover up to $ 2 million per incident. It can aggregate to the annual amount of about $ 3 million. This policy covers body injuries, personal injuries and property damage. If bargained the company also gives an additional cover for fire damage to the premises of working up to $ 100,000.
