The SCWA 2007 Convention & EXPO provided the forum to build a more successful car wash business and achieve a more balanced life style. I hope you had the opportunity to attend the Convention & ; Car Wash EXPO in Arlington. If you did attend, you enjoyed a great time! This was certainly an exciting way to start my year as SCWA President . Before I go any further, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and the appreciation of the SCWA family to Dale Brown for a truly outstanding job as SCWA President during this past year. Dale is a difficult act to follow, setting an excellent example of leadership for me and the Board of Directors. Dale is dedicated to the car wash industry and SCWA . Dale, thank you for a great year.
To all the 2006-2007 SCWA Board of Directors, thank you for your dedication and support. Our Board members serve the SCWA and the industry giving their time and assuming the financial expense of their participation. It is an honor to serve on the Board of Directors, however, it is also a sacrifice of time and financial resources.
A special thank you to the exhibitors and the convention sponsors. This was the largest exhibition we have held and the best attended . The EXPO was a busy center of activity and exchanging information. I encourage you to check the name of those exhibitors and sponsors in supporting these companies during the year. It was a successful time in Arlington. And now we look forward to the coming year and where SCWA will be heading in 2007 . My goal is to build on the successes of the past several years and seek new goals by thinking beyond the horizons we now see. I want us to think larger and dream bigger . What does this mean?
Identify new ways to make SCWA membership a more valuable investment for the car wash owner.
Enhance SCWA as a larger information and data resource.
Focus more resources on water education in our communities and within the industry.
Continue to expand the SCWA Convention and EXPO format.
Seek opportunities for partnerships and alliances for the benefit of SCWA and our members.
As the 2007 SCWA Convention came to a close I realized I was motivated. I was motivated by all the activities. I was motivated to realize I can be more successful. I was motivated by the friendships both old and new. I was motivated to see how far our industry and our association have grown . When Dale handed me the gavel, I was excited because now I have the chance to turn my motivation into action. Being successful and participating go hand in hand . This is the challenge I extend to each of you this year. TAKE ACTION. It is easy to be motivated in the moment and then let it go . We can all be more successful. We can all have a more balanced life style. TAKE ACTION. Become more involved in SCWA. Meet new friends and learn new ideas. Get others involved and build SCWA as well as our industry . Together we can all enjoy a successful year and future .
