...Prior to teaching in Panama, I worked as a program aid for a local elementary school's after school program, where I helped with 3rd grade homework and led other activities. I have worked with students of nearly all ages, children and some adults. I believing in guiding students through their work and giving them the tools to find the answers themselves using their previous knowledge.

...During a recent, last-minute session, which took place the night before a major test, my student appeared exhausted and stressed-out. After a couple of questions and me acknowledging her difficulties, we were able to carry on. One note, this student's parent arranged the session and let her know about it on the way to our meeting place.

...After some weeks of working on practice tests I was able to raise my score by 7 points! This score helped me to get a full scholarship in college. Those test-taking and study skills are skills that have served me well the in my education and career.
