...Phonics and phonics games were a large part of that early reading readiness program. Phonics and an understanding of sight words (that are the exceptions to the rules) are building blocks of the puzzle of reading. I love to see the "ah haa" moments when kids begin to unlock the code and find that they can sort out just about any word once they have the basic phonetic sounds understood.
