...What is more important is getting students to really understand and appreciate their material. It is not enough to just memorize the rules of grammar or mathematics, but to understand them so that they can be used more effectively and more creatively. I believe in working with each student in a customized way that fits their individual needs and builds their confidence.

A strong liberal arts education and a long career in statistical modeling have left me filled with facts and skills that I am motivated to pass on. Most important of these is a strong intuition for rooting out problems in analyses and finding alternative ways to make things work. I believe these are both teachable skills.
