...So if I see one approach to a topic not working, I can switch gears easily to adapt. Also, I think my enthusiasm tends to show through pretty blatantly, which my students appreciate. In recent years I have begun working more with high school aged students with IEPs; as a teacher, I personally love the challenge many of these students present, and my students have seen strong results.

...The words will be challenging, however will be useful in everyday conversations. By learning prefixes and suffixes, the student will be able to define words independently. Student will be able to understand all parts of speech and apply their understanding to become a better reader and writer.

...Part of my work was to help them understand their diagnosis. I have worked with students diagnosed with autism for many years in the classroom, in small groups and individually. Although they present with difficult behaviors at times, they can also be endearing, motivated and capable of learning well.

...My math background is less developed, but I was double accelerated through high school, and achieved a 790 on my math SATs. The basic skills are pretty engrained. I'm creative with my explanations and always willing to take the time to make sure my students understand what I'm saying.
