...First hand experience and making mistakes is the best way for one to learn. Therefore, I always engage students in in-context projects; actively correcting, guiding, and instructing along the way. TRADITIONAL MEDIUMSIn many cases I will start with observational drawing, even if the ultimate goal is to learn how to paint.

...It always takes at least a little knowledge and will to speak up. The worst that can happen is that a student turns away and never asks another question. Every time I answer a question, I also attempt to include limits of usage, most common student errors and some historical references.

...It is not learning if the student does not internalize the concepts and does not experience a little bit of fun in the process. I understand that different people have different styles of learning that are more beneficial to them than others. I am well trained at determining what style of learning that is and applying it to the subject being taught so that the student can better progress.
