...They are not all the same, and each one needs to be addressed according to his or her specific learning style and view of the world. When I bought my first PC back in 1990, the first thing I did was read through the entire DOS manual. There are still many tasks which can be accomplished quicker and more easily using the DOS prompt than by working in Windows tools.
