...Students often need to be retaught what was not learned previously with an experienced and patient teacher. I have had great results with my previous students on a one on one basis, I even have had students improving gradually their grade from a F to an A. Of course, it improves the student's confidence tremendously, and the parents are very happy as well!

...I assign and check homework. My method is to ask in what area the student needs help, see how the student approaches the problem, then provide feedback/input. I like being asked questions, as it helps to make tutoring a wonderful experience.
