Gina S. ...I have had experience as a short-term substitute teacher for deaf first graders at a previous job at a school for deaf students. I would use flash cards with words and pictures of the specific word in signs. I would recommend to a student that I'd teach them the alphabet in sign language first then learn more words and phrases in signs.
