...I did that for about three months. I have taught ASL to my niece and currently teaching it to my son who is 9 months old.In the summer 2008 I graduated from University of South Florida with a minor in American Sign Language. For 6 months, I started a American Sign Language group at my church which I lead and taught the people American Sign Language.

...Although I have not taught typically developing students in a traditional classroom, I have tutored children privately who do not have any disabilities. My first language is American Sign Language. Both my parents are Deaf, and I grew up a hearing child in a Deaf world.

...But not only did my parents want me to communicate with ASL, they also desired they learn to speak orally and read lips. This has afforded me the best of both worlds as I see less go between the deaf and hearing environments. I believe this experience qualifies me to help you learn American Sign Language at your own pace and also learn how to communicate with someone who is hard of hearing.
