Travel Alaska is big. Travelling in Alaska is like travelling no other place on Earth. Every new mile has a new possibility. Every step unfolds myriad surprises. Your options are as abundant and broad as Alaska itself.
Anchorage will deceive you of its beauty in the first glance. But then, just when you start rubbishing it away as just another region of USA, a bear will startle you back to reality and the sun will blissfully remain stationed in the sky. Anchorage is the worlds capital for brilliant surprises. Check out the Anchorage Museum of History and Art and the Delaney Park. Do not hesitate to enjoy a dazed afternoon asleep on the park benches in the park. Visit the Earthquake Park. It lives to explain the devastating 64 earthquake.
The next stop should be Juneau, the capital hidden away on the glaciers doorsteps. Its not really the most accessible of cities. You cant reach it by road and owing to bad weather, many flights are often cancelled. But once you make it there, you will find yourself in ethereal spaces and breath-taking peaks. Once in Juneau, make way to the Juneau Douglas city museum, the Last Chance Mining Museum and the Marine Park.
Apart from these, go to the Admirality Island National
Monument. It is the best bear viewing place in the world. The place has an area of 3641 Sq km designated only for wilderness and wildlife! Glacier Bay National Park has excellent whale watching facilities. The sight of glaciers here is something out of this world. Eleven of them spill out of mountains and it is a sight too foolish to miss.
Travel Alaska, adventure is the word. Ski, kayak, hike or simple meet a few bears or whales whatever be the case, just go crazy and wild.

Flights to Alaska will deposit you in Anchorage, Juneau, Ketchikan or Fairbanks. Asians and Europeans, however, might have to touch Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis or Vancouver first and catch a connecting flight to Anchorage.
Alaska Airlines is the main domestic carrier, connecting all major towns. Connectivity is also good by road. If you are more than three in number, renting a taxi might prove cheaper. Marine ferries service Southeast, South-central and Southwest Travel Alaska. They are the dominant mode of transport in these road-unfriendly areas.
Trains provide for a great journey. Only problem is that they could be really expensive.
One trip lasting a few days is certainly not enough to explore the entire gamut of possibilities. Plan another trip. Stretch the Travel Alaska experience a li'l further.
