Frontier city

Welcome to Frontier City ! This is the first thing that you will see when you visit their website. And they really welcome you. The largest amusement park in Okhlahama, Frontier City has a Western theme. The park spans 40 acres and has more than 50 thrilling rides. Located just off Interstate 35 south of N.E. 122nd Street in the northeastern part of Okhlahama City, Frontier City is open only from April to October.

Frontier City was originally owned by Premier Parks which later became Six Flags. The park was the first of the amusement parks owned by this company. On April 2007, Frontier City was sold to CNL Income Properties and is being operated by PARC Management. When the park was opened in 1958, it was a Western theme town. With the passage of time, the development and popularity of the park led to more and more rides and facilities being offered for visitors. Today, it is one of the biggest amusement parks in Okhlahama catering to a huge population.

Frontier City boasts of three roller coasters as well as two water rides. The rollercoasters are described in this section of the article. The Wildcat, Silver Bullet and Diamond Back are all excellent and thrilling rides that sweep you off the earth and make you fly. The Wildcat is a classic wooden rollercoaster with wooden tracks and structural steel supports. A high speed looping coaster, the Silver Bullet shoots out exactly like a bullet. Diamond Back, a shuttle loop roller coaster ride that makes a loop and then the whole thing is repeated in reverse, is one of the most breathtaking rides in the park.

Other rides includes Dodge Em?s that are demolition style bumper cars, Thunder Road Raceway, which are also racecars and Tin Lizzy?s on which you can take a nice antique style car ride. Geronimo Skycoaster, which is a 113-foot fall ride and Grand Carousel on which you go round and round like a merry go round are major attractions. Round-Up is a thriller which spins you horizontally and then vertically as also Sidewinder, which spins in circles. Terrible Twister is an excellent ride in which the floor drops from down and pins you to the wall while spinning. Grand Centennial Ferris Wheel is a ferris wheel from which you can obtain a view of the whole park and is a must ride. The Mindbender is also a good ride, which operates like a swingboat. Another Swingboat type ride is the Priairie Schooner that goes really high up in the air. Swinging Six Guns is also a swing ride with a difference. It spins during the ride making it a most thrilling swingboat ride. The Mystery River Log Flume is a water ride that plunges you into water. Another water ride is the Renegade Rapids in which you twist and turn through a wild river. There is not an amusement park that could be complete without a horror ride. Frontier City has Treasure Mountain as its spook ride.

So much for adult rides. Where would an amusement park be that does not cater for children ? Frontier City offers plenty of rides for kids and are described below. Kids can crash each other on the demolition boats in Bumper oats or they can simply paddle on a ride on the river in Tippa Canoe At Tadpole Creek. Flying Dragon on which kids can fly and Tom Toms, which is a swingboat style ride and Wild Kitty that is a roller coaster designed for kids are the more thrilling rides. Tina?s Tea Party is a beautifully designed spinning ride for kids. There are also other attractie play areas for kids such as O.K.Corral, a two floor fun filled area and Paul Bunyan?s Buzzsaw Company, which is an interactive foam factory with water gadgets and other attractions. The inevitable children?s train track called Rio Grande is also very popular.

For a whole day of fun and thrills, the entry price is reasonable. The price of one adult ticket is $32.99 at the gate and $25.99, if purchased online. For kids measuting 48 cm and less, the admission is $24.99 and entry is free for babies less than two years old. The parking costs an additional six dollars. There are, of course, special rates for big groups. There are also designated picnic areas in Frontier City which is perfect for company or school outings. The picnic package offers a private pavilion, discounted tickets, meals, etc.
