This agency is responsible for providing protection and advocacy for the rights of Massachusetts residents with disabilities.This agency is not a part of the state or federal government. The mission of The Disability Law Center is to provide advocacy on disability issues that promote the fundamentals rights of all people who have disabilities and cannot participate in the social and economic life of Massachussets.
This Disability Law Center provide information,referral,technical assistance and representation regarding legal rights and services for people with disabilities.They provide legal services to people who were eligible and groups whose cases meet DLC's priorities.they were also trying to make a balance between systematic advocacy and individual representation.the experienced lawyers And paralegals of this center conduct trainings for community groups and other advocacy organizations.

1.Hosing Discrimination
In the hosing market of the city of Massachussets,the community team completed adissability discrimination audit.It took nearly six months to complete the audit.The audit was modeled on testing techniques developed by the u.s department of housing and urban development.The aim is to determine whether the disabled people experience discrimination while seeking housing in the rental or sales market.DLC found evidence of discrimination in 48% of 52 overall tests conducted.Testing included discrimination across six disability categories.They are Individual who are deaf,those who are blind,individuals who use wheel chairs,those with mental illness,individuals with a cognitive impairment and individual with a mobility impairment.
The tests of the DLC is in the following things-to find if there is evidence that a person is tested less favorably-situated person on their disability.The tests for reasonable accommodations-to find if the house providers are aware of their legal obligation and are willing to change their policies.procedures to allow an individual with a disability an equal opportunity to enjoy dwelling.There were also tests for reasonable structural modifications-to find if the housing providers are aware of their legal obligation and are willing to allow to make physical modifications to housing units which is necessary for a disabled person.
