Medford ma
Medford was first founded in the year 1630 (which makes it the fourth oldest English settlement in North America). It was then finally in 1892 when Medford was established as a city. It became a center of industry and manufactured bricks, tiles, rum, and even built clipper ships (a very fast multiple-masted sailing ship of the 19th century) In the late 19th century, a local resident named James Pierpont wrote the famous Christmas carol Jingle Bells, while at a pub on Salem Street in Medford. He was inspired to do so after watching a sleigh race from Medford to Malden.
One more such example of creating something truly memorable with ones personal experience was when another local resident named Lydia Maria Child (anti-slave activist and women's rights activist) made a poem out of her journey across town to her grandparents home, which is now the classic song Over the River and Through the Woods.
But its not all good things that took place in Medford. After all, Medford is home to some well-known scandals. Like when in the year 1980, a few corrupt officers of Medfords police force pulled off one of the biggest bank robbery and jewel theft in world history. And even the fact that the only recorded evidence of the Mafia's existence is from an FBI audiotape of a Medford Mafia ceremony that occurred in the late 1980's.
