History
On 17th September, 1630 the Puritan colonists founded the town of Shawmut Peninsula, a promontory of land on which Boston is built, Boston was integrated as a city in 1822. The city played an important role during the American Revolution and was a host to a number of historic events like the Boston Tea Party, Boston Massacre, Battle of Bunker Hill, Siege of Boston etc. However, after the revolution Boston became a major shipping port. Also Boston was a host to Americas first public school called the Boston Latin School, the first college, Harvard College in Cambridge and the first subway in US.
