I lived in Spain for three years and am fluent in Spanish and have taught and tutored students in various levels of Spanish. I lived in France for four months and am not fluent but could tutor students in lower level French classes.

...I have a non-profit administration and project management background, and have been an avid volunteer, tutor and mentor for the past 5 years to both kids age 6-15 and adults who are learning English as a second language. For the past four years, I have taught intermediate ESL classes in Chinatown to Chinese adults. My ESL classes have about 8 adult students in them.

...I only taught children with special needs and know that special needs children need a teacher who will accept their present academic level and teach them from that level. These children need to feel as if they are accepted for their academic achievement although it may be below grade level. It is important to build confidence with the skills they have acquired and teach from that level.
