After having had two years of college German, I lived in Austria for five and a half years. During this time, I spoke mostly German and I studied medicine and learned medical and scientific terminology. After leaving Austria, I worked as a German-English translator and part time tutor.

...In school and around the city my reputation to have mastered languages, such as French, Latin and Greek spread quickly. Come summertime, parents did not hesitate to hire me as tutor to help their children improve in those languages. Later on, to finance my college studies, I was hired to teach those languages at the high school level of the same institution.

...I taught Latin I & II for 10 years. I'm probably not as swift in reading Latin poetry as I was 20 years ago, but I managed to translate all the tangled sentences in WyzAnt's certification test. I taught World Geography at Pasadena High School.
