...My job as a tutor is to find out what teaching style or presentation will make my student comprehend the subject at hand better. First, I try to find out what sparks the interest in the student and then try to relate the subject matter that he or she has difficult with to that interesting topic....

...I hate boring grammar drills, so unless you really want to do them, I won't make you. Instead, we'll use language in a way that practices the skill we're working on and is also interesting and authentic. I always ask the people I tutor to set goals, whether that goal is to get an A in a class or to understand a movie without subtitles.
