...Of the two thousand or so kids I have taught or tutored in the years I have been doing this, I am sure the nearly three fourths would have been or had been diagnosed as ADD/ADHD. The assumptions surrounding these diagnoses suggest that there is a focus problem which can be alleviated if we can make the child somehow try harder. I have found these assumptions to be unwarranted.
