To be able to navigate around Ceylon I've learned Sinhala writing system.
(I was illegal to even possess a GPS equipment while in SriLanka, not to mention that there were no maps available)

I find the Abugida idea quite interesting.
Now I try to "invent" one for Russian language and have a look at what transpires - will it be more clumsy or will it save some writing efforts and so on.

I'll post my "materials" here soon.

I'm thinking if the consonant clusters will make many consonant ligatures when writing.

Seems, I'll need at least two "virama"-signs: the regular one, and the "soft-virama" to use instead of our current "ь" letter.

I've done abugidas for English.

So why would it be so difficult for Russian or other languages that use Cyrillic? But if anyone comes up with anything I'd like to see it.
