A word like 'gone' would have a symbol for /g/ without diacritics, a vowel symbol without diacritics for the /ah/ sound, and a symbol for the /n/ sound. However, in a word like 'quick', there would be a symbol for /k/ with diacritics for over it adding the /w/ sound, making it /kw/. There would then be a separate symbol for the /ih/ vowel with one accent over it and the final symbol for /k/. Does that make sense?

Yes, that is what I imagined it was. It is an alphabet, not an abugida or an abjad.

It's not an alphabet unless vowels are represented by full letters. Other abugidas use vowel carriers like Devanagari, Tibetan and even Tengwar. He's just taken that principle and applied it further.

I have a script with the same thing :) it uses what looks like an "i" without the dot, and each vowel sound is represented with a different diacritic mark.
