Do you have any suggestions for categories for this forum?

I'd like to see some sort of post in another language forum with no real guidance to the discussion other than that you can't post in English (or you have to make the post bilingual if you aren't confident that you'd be understood).

I also want to suggest a popular conlang thread. By this I mean a thread for conlangs used outside of their creators. You know, ones like Esperanto. I'm not really interested in conlangs so I probably won't use it, I'm just suggesting this because I think other might like it. On top of this I'll of course also mention that you should make a forum for user made conlangs.

[edit] Also bring back the extinct languages thread. And I want to suggest a sub-forum (if you can do that) specifically for talking about modernizing and posting in extinct languages.

Stosis,

What you suggest for other forums seems far too stratified and totally unnecessary. All of those topics can be easily covered in threads without fora or sub-fora.

I say, keep it simple.

I agree. Simple is best.

I think that the "Language Learning" forum should be changed to just a "Languages and Linguistics"/"General Language" forum, because not all discussions on languages are based on learning them, plus where would you put discussions on linguistics matters?

Maybe a new forum specifically for linguistics?

Also, a general off-topic forum would be nice.

[edit] Oh, that's what this forum is for but everyone's still posting about languages in it...

Oh, oh, I see. Now I remember that the old forum just had an Introductions and General Chat place... I guess we'll be fine with one General Chat forum then.

Omniglot's forum was never strong in off-topic threads anyways... Except for those heated discussions on politics.

Shouln't this topic be in the "Corrections & Suggestions" sub-forum?
