Okay so here is where you post the books that you have read or are reading. To cut down on any spam, try and give a short description and what you think of the book, if you got an opinion to share.

To start:

Beyond Walden - A neat book on the various Kettle Farms of the USA.
Vesuvius - History of the most famous and best recorded volcano in history.

Simple Church - Tony & Felicity Dale About Christ's desire for fellowship
The Starfish Manifesto (Das Seesternmanifest)- Wolfgang Simson How the Holy Spirit is moving during this decade.

I just finished an English translation of Zhang Wei's The ancient ship (張煒 《古船》))--highly recommended, by the way--and started on Nuala O'Faolain's part-historical novel My dream of you. It's been criticised for being too much a retreat of her autobiography Are you somebody? but I enjoyed that so much I wouldn't mind reading another version of it.

Marcus Aurelius: Meditations (this one actually I read all the time, like some people do with the Bible)
John Mearsheimer: The Tragedy of Great Power Politics
Nicholas Ostler: Empires of the Word - A Language History of the World

I recently finished Global Economy by Erik Reinert.

Aside from my latest issue of Foreign Policy, I've been picking my way through The Clash of Civilizations and Human Rights Watch's 2010 World Report.

I'm listening to "Red Mars", "Green Mars" and "Blue Mars" again by Kim Stanley Robinson, read by Richard Ferrone. It's a science-fiction series about Mars colonisation.

I'm familiar with Edward Saïd's theory of Orientalism. Thanks for the video.
