Which scenario do you think is most likely to happen? a) Obama runs in '12 with Biden as VP and wins. b) Obama runs in '12 with Biden as VP and loses. c) Obama runs in '12 with Hillary as VP and wins. d) Obama runs in '12 with Hillary as VP and loses. e) Obama goes on national TV and announces that he won't run again. f) Biden becomes Democratic nominee after Obama's TV announcement. g) Hillary becomes Democratic nominee after Obama' s announcement. If you favor another scenario not mentioned here, don't hesitate to toss it into the arena.

h) political junkies will inevitably begin hypothesizing and cooing over the possibilities way too long before it makes sense to do so, leading to the cyclical cynicism by the general public and resulting in a lackluster performance by all parties involved

h.1) status quo

I say a). I don't see why President Obama would switch VPs. I also don't think any Republican candidates could win. I certainly hope not...

Considering the crushing defeat he delivered in 2008, the only question is why wouldn't he run again?

People aren't getting any refunds back on their taxes this year. People are mad at Obama for that, plus the fact that he said he would stop the war....

Obama realizes that he really can't stop either war. We are now obliged to occupy both Iraq and Afghanistan for the foreseeable future. Maybe if we got down to 10,000 troops in Iraq we could call that a complete withdrawal.

The question then is, which one? I have an inkling it won't be Sarah Palin.

He didn't all that badly...

I believe that per year, the US's acceptance of refugees went up an average of ~27,000 more annually and asylum seekers went up ~25,000 more per year than the previous administration.

In 2003, he put a ban on racial profiling for the government, fulfilling his earlier promise. Click Here.

Something that he did not do, was put Muslim/Arab-Americans into concentration camps like the Japanese were during WWII.

While met with anger at home, he launched a war in Iraq that freed millions of Iraqis from an oppressive dictator. His Afghan War, was a response to al-Qaeda which was believed/was residing in the country.
