Font organizing program by script?

Postby Larry G » Fri 08 Jan 2010 7:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. Dunno if this is the right place for this, but does anyone know if there is a program for organizing fonts by script? I have a ton of fonts, but of course not all of them can handle every script. I'd like to be able to quickly see which fonts are capable of Cyrillic or Greek or CJK or whatever, without trial by error.

I have a pretty good memory, but when you have hundreds of fonts, I can be a little forgetful. Does anyone know of any good font organizing programs that would allow me to quickly be able to identify those fonts that can handle which scripts?

Thanks,
Larry

I've been using this program for years:

(scroll down for a download link)

To see which fonts support which scripts first click 'Composite font' and then 'Configure'. Here you'll have a list of the scripts on the left, click on the desired script and a list of fonts which support it will appear on the right. You'll also see how many characters of a scripts set are supported by a single font.
