在下的確是中國人，但並不是漢人。 漢語本就是在下童年時就會的語言，其之學習與一般中國人無異。 雖然在下也通簡化字，但是閣下能懂繁體字，恕在下不用簡化字重複此文。

I am indeed a chinese but, not of the han-ethnicity. Since I have acquired the chinese language during my childhood, the method of studying it was no different from other chinese individuals.

That was why I have voiced: "one cannot be fluent in the Chinese Language without at least being fluent in at least two dialects". Of course, many have challenged this claim of mine; however, I dare them to venture into the depth of China (not just the mere City of Beijing), and then, see if shall my claim be valid or nay.

I certainly knew a lot of my friends who could speak Mandarin and the dialect of their hometown. Most of the time the married Chinese couples I met spoke different dialects and Mandarin. The husband spoke a dialect from his town, and the wife spoke a dialect from her town, and neither one of them could understand each other except when communicating in Mandarin.

So you are of a Chinese ethnic group? I'm aware that the han aren't the only kind of Chinese in China. In fact, in the past I've visited ethnic minority groups with their own customs and language (dialect).

I possess both Manchurian and Mongolian heritage in my blood. Despite what the han chinese may claim, the real minority group in China is the han chinese and, in the historical past none of us are barbarians of the north termed by the han chinese. They failed to see the languages and cultures that are different from their own, in that failure they simply denied everything different from their own and, called everyone else barbarians. I fie on that.

I'm curious, why do you say "at least two dialects"? I thought it was Standard Chinese + some actually spoken dialect.

A land as large as China of which possessing such diverse peoples, merely one dialect of chinese plus the standard language will get an individual to very limited distance.
