There is a very good On-Line source for Tai writing systems via
http://www.persee.fr/web/guest/home

In the Search box, type in the language you want ..... Tai, tai-blanc, tai-noire, tai-dam, lao ecriture, and it will spit out BEFEO articles that have oodles and oodles of script matrices. The average length of the articles is around 20meg, so if you have a slow connection, you're kind of out of luck. Also, because of the size it makes sending them out rather problematic.

Great resource for other SEAsian languages like Khmer, Khom, Cham, Shan, etc. as well.

Here are a few to start with:
Enter these titles in the search box on the Persee web-page

1.Recherches sur la litterature laotienne / Louis Finot
2.Les Thai blancs de Phong-tho
3.Etude sur l'ectriture Tai
4.Phonetique et ecriture du Tai de Qui Chau (Vietnam) / Michel Ferlus
5. Romanisation des parlers 'tai du Nord Viet-Nam
6. Les ecritures 'tai du Laos
7. Tablette divinatoire et ideogrammes a Ngia-lo

This should keep Serali happily occupied for awhile

Maybe because it's French, or maybe because the workings of the internet are still big mysteries, you might have to try 2~30 times to bring up the page.

Best thing to do is to download a copy directly on to your computer and then open it up. That is what I do and it works approx 90% of the time. When it doesn't work, try searching the article again...by using the author's name......then you can probably download it.

I don't know why this is the way it is, but such is life.

Good luck!

Ok. Who wrote No.7?

That's one of them that get the "No results" thingy coming up.
