Welcome to the Espiritolan Corner! You can use English or Espiritola if you know it! Discuss anything eg. about espiritola, other languages, if you've got a translation request or just popping by to say hi!

Could you post a grammar of the language, or could I find one somewhere?

I had a thread on the old forum but that's gone now and epr has changed a bit since. Here's a start though:

- uses affixation (obviously).
- pronoun drop
- inflected!!! :lol:

eg. (s')enamorar (a) - to be in love (with).
eg. vanos - we go, let's go!

- one infinitive ending (-ar) with a few irregular verbs.
- vocabulary based on "filtering" words from Romance languages + words from other roots such as the native Espiritolan tribal tongues (Espiri-itola = the Eagle-land)
- orthography is quite regular

eg. ser, ir, lir etc. - to be, to go, to read
eg. sey, esse, es, sianos, siavo, seís - I am, you are (sing.), he/she/it is, we are, you are (plur/formal), they are.

Some verbs filtered from other languages:
FRE tuer (to kill) --> teyar
FRE voyager (to travel) --> voyar
ESP esquina (corner) --> cuína
---

Besides me and a few friends at university, only one other member here knows epr quite well, Bipapo.

Lo Numero Solamo (The Lonely Number)

Uno, lo numero solamo
Ero numero ser es ser solo
L'Evitar a que povo
Por que non es ser solo

Uno s'multiplio es uno
Para la division no es differento
Sobatraçar uno lasso nado
Addicionar uno mas ancora es uno

Uno, voluo ser conotro
Con qui por no ser solo
Uno attendo un temo
Usqu'un otro veno, s'enjogno

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>
One, the lonely number
To be this number is to be alone
Avoid it when you can
For not doing so is to be alone
One multiplied by itself is one
By division it is no different
To take one away leaves none
But to add another is to still be one
One, it longs to be together
With such another as to not be alone
One waits for such a time
Until another one comes to bind
Please translate the following, thank you:
Seek, and you shall find it.
Ask, and it shall be answered.
For every destiny, there is a path.
For every path, there is a purpose.
Again, even conlangs change and change over time. Espiritolan is dead to me, although I can still utilise it, I mostly use its descendant: Espiritolhan.
Espiritolan:
Sersciar, ey la trováraís.
Posar, ey séra respondá.
Por cado destino, exista un paso.
Por cado paso, exista un resona.
Espiritolhan:
Sersciar, e la trovaraís.
Posar, e será respondada.
Por cado destinho, exista un pasagem.
Por cado pasagem, exista un resona.
It's pretty much the same.
Thank you for the translations. I have made an image based upon the Espiritolhan translation you have given:
