Here’s a corrected version of the Gsteemsobet Key. I changed the name of the character that looks like a lowercase Alpha from “Ack” to “Alf”, in order to better reflect its relation to other existing scripts; and I also corrected a spelling error. Probably no one noticed, but I’d originally misspelt the Gsteemsovian name of Sozz as “Sazz,” which would have rhymed with “Jazz.” Embarrassing.

I will shortly be posting an addendum on Gsteemsovian numerics. They are in base 60 decimal/50 duodecimal, but unlike the old Cuneiform system, they are written in a manner founded on base twelve rather than on base ten. It becomes possible to write dates and times in half as many digits, which makes for extreme visual compactness.

As promised, here is a brief demonstration of Gsteemsovian numbering in action. Note that the first 8 in the date below is not a typo — Gsteemsovian years end on February 28th/29th, as the Romans presumably intended. I realized after I’d finished writing this post that I didn’t actually use the digits ten or eleven anywhere, but I’m sure you get the idea regardless.

No font (yet), alas. I’ve been waiting years for decent tools to make one. There exist amazingly powerful font editors, but they generally cost a fortune. The only free one for Mac OS X seems to be FontForge, which has a rather bizarre and mysterious Unix-ish user interface.

I’ve considered submitting to Omniglot, but I don’t think the design of the letters has stabilized enough yet. Thanks for the vote of confidence though. :¬)

And I too want a nice font maker. But there doesn't seem to be anything that's free that could do everything that a decent font maker does.

Wait until I get a credit card. That'll be the day.

I don't either. I think it's challenging and fun.

Which is part of the reason I make scripts to write English all the time. I have one that I recently made but I wish I had a scanner to show you a sample. I'm in love with it.

I have tons of other ones but this one stole my heart. I'm using it for everything.
