That's very interesting. I know a girl from Russia who moved here when she was 10, and while she speaks her language well, she says she has forgot how to spell. I told her to read the Russian Wikipedia or something. :P

This is usually the case for immigrants. But it's different for me because my household was primarily an English speaking household with Portuguese ultimately being phased out completely. So, basically, I had to try to teach myself when I was a teenager. :)
